The television receiver of the color image "Emerald-201" from I quarter of 1959 was produced by the Moscow Television Factory. '' Emerald-201 '' is a floor projection TV for receiving color and black and white TV programs. Images of red, green and blue colors obtained simultaneously from three kinescopes with the help of mirror-lens optical systems are projected onto a remote 900x1200 mm reflecting screen, on which they are combined into one color image. This makes it possible to serve simultaneously 30 ... 40 spectators. The TV case is made in the form of a non-movable bedside table, with finishing of valuable wood species. The TV speaker system consists of 5 loudspeakers located frontally (two types of 4GD-1 and one VGD-1) and on the side walls of the case (two 1GD-9). This arrangement of speakers creates a surround sound effect. The visual screen is made of sheet aluminum specially treated in such a way that the greatest part of the light energy is reflected in the zone of the viewers. The color TV is rather complicated and although when creating the design, we tried to simplify management, for its proper operation some skills and knowledge are required. Since TV uses 3 kinescopes simultaneously, the number of controls naturally increases. Controls can be divided into 3 types. The main control knobs are located at the top of the TV, they provide an opportunity to adjust the volume of sound, timbre at lower frequencies, timbre at higher frequencies. There are also color control knobs with a color channel switch when receiving B / W transmissions, a knob for adjusting the overall brightness, common focus, and a clarity knob. To the main knobs applies and switch television channels. The control knobs control knobs are needed to correctly align 3 images from 3 kinescopes into a color image projected onto a reflective screen. The control knobs of the combination unit are divided into 3 groups. Each group has horizontal, vertical, and linear image size controls. In addition, there are blue and green focusing pens in the TV for correcting horizontal and vertical blue and green lines. In each group of controls there is a switch to turn on or off any of the 3 kinescopes in the process of combining and initial adjustment. All control knobs cover with flip cover. Auxiliary control knobs are located at the bottom of the case. These include: adjusting vertical size, vertical linearity, frame rate, line frequency, horizontal size, blue and green signal levels, contrast and color saturation. Controls derived from the slot include: vertical and horizontal linearity, focusing, high voltage adjustment, flash amplifier mode, threshold adjustment for blue, green and red ignition. In the Emerald-201 TV, as well as in other modern models there are systems: AGC - high-speed automatic gain control, APCG - automatic adjustment of the local oscillator frequency, AFC and F inertial automatic adjustment of the line frequency. There is a noise-resistant selector of synchronizing pulses, stabilization of high voltage, focusing current and others. The design of the optical system of the TV is the same as that of the projection black-and-white TV '' Topaz ''. The dimensions of the projection kinescopes for the Emerald-201 TV and their design are the same as for the kinescope used in the Topaz TV. The difference lies only in the color of the phosphors. To obtain a color image of the phosphors of the picture tubes should give, respectively, blue, green and red glow. The picturescopes have spherical screens with a diameter of 6 cm. Types of attached picture tubes: for blue 6ЛК1Ð; for green color 6ЛК1И; for red color 6ЛК1П. The TV uses 36 radio tubes and 12 germanium diodes. Main technical data: Sensitivity on the channel of image signals is not worse than 100 µV.The clarity in the center of the screen is 400 lines. The band of reproduced sound frequencies in sound pressure is no longer 60 ... 12000 Hz. The network voltage is 110, 127 or 220 volts. Power consumed 400 watts. The mass of the TV is 80 kg, the screen is 17 kg. A total of 225 Emerald-201 TVs were produced.
